New Stuff

The recent hiatus has not only given the rest of the gang a well-earned respite, but it has allowed me to make some improvements to the production. There was a long list of repairs, additions, refinements and more. I took the entire weekend and addressed as many as I could. Though it took over forty hours of work, the end result will not have changed much at all for the viewer. Except for...

A New Stream Intro

I have reedited the ten minute intro video to include more highlights from the program. One in particular had not been in the highlight playlist, but it will soon. It was genuinely one of the funniest clips of them all. This is really the only noticeable change and the greatest chunk of the weekend's worth of work. It will allow a little pre-stream entertainment.

Computer Refreshening

The workhorse computer- the one that handles the streaming- has been cleaned up a tad with streaming in mind. In other words, I have deleted just about everything that is not used for streaming. It should run a little better now. Not that I had trouble with it, but with every click, I would think, "Will this be the thing that crashes it?"

Later on, I will use the gained computer resources to upgrade the stream so we can do bigger and better things in the future.

Idiot Proofing

Since the failure of my graphics tablet there have been easily avoidable mistakes. The tablet allowed for a no-thinky, pushy-buttony method for me. I got used to that and screwed up a few times with the adapted procedure.

On Sunday, for the second largest weekend task, I installed and implemented a new no-thinky, pushy-buttony method of switching. Now that the groundwork has been laid, it will allow me to add many more features in the future.

It's future-proof. We're hoping it's idiot-proof.

Workflow Changes

It was only a small change, but the way the raw streamed video is edited for YouTube has been slightly altered. Some of the tedious extra work is no longer. This too, will free up some time during the edit to allow me to spiff up the edits or add more stuff.

No-Thinky

With much of the technical fixes out of the way I am hoping it will improve the entertainment part of the program. Focusing on content instead of "Will this click break it?" should make it better.
